    Feeding Question

I used to use BOSS and have switched to Rice Bran. I use just a little as a top dress, mainly for their coats. As with BOSS, it will pack on the pounds if fed too much. I have also used Beet Pulp. I don't feed oats or alfalfa pellets so can't help you there.

    Worming

Quest has the chemical moxidectin. If it has moxidectin, don't use it. I remember seeing another dewormer that had moxidectin, but I can't remember which it was. We rotate the chemicals fenbendozole, pyrantal pamoate and ivermectin. You may want to check with your vet to see what they...

    Hardshipping ASPC to AMHR

If I'm not mistaken, ASPC ponies can be hardshipped in to AMHR at the age of three. I think the procedure is the same as when AMHR was allowing unregistered horses to be hardship registered. I'd have to check the rule book on that. I don't believe AMHR requires DNA for the minis. When you...

Is there a H.O.F for Jumping?

As someone else posted, there is a HOF for Hunter and a HOF Jumper. Now, going by the statement that ASPC is the same as AMHR, and since I am familiar with the AMHR rule here's my take on getting a Hunter/Jumper HOF: to HOF in Hunter or Jumper, you must obtain 70 HOF points. They are...

    Head clipping diagram

This is a different diagram from the one I found on this forum about two years ago. I may combine the two. I'll have to do some practicing after the first of the year to see what I like. Here's the link to a different diagram that I found on Lilbeginnings...

What does AMHR do for All Star?

I can only speak from my experience. Last year I received a letter from AMHR when my gelding placed in the National Top 10 All Stars for his halter class. I'm in Area VII and did not receive anything for either of my horses Area VII All Star placings.

    Wilform Carts

My friend has a Wilform cart and loves it. I had the chance to buy a Wilform Pony cart a few months ago, but didn't need one that big. I had been looking and looking for a Wilform mini cart and finally settled for the Jerald because I couldn't find a Wilform.

    Quick Question

You also need the Application for Permanent Status as well as the pictures. Since you are not transferring ownership, you don't need to sign the back of the original papers, you just need to send them in. Here's the link from the AMHR site...

What do you where when you show

I've only been showing for a few years and bought most of my clothes at the thrift stores. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on clothes until I knew I was going to like it. Since I decided that I like showing I just bought a few nice outfits on e-bay and some other online venues. Anyway...

    halters

I love the Hamilton halters. Those are the only ones I will buy. I buy the adjustable chin because as we all know in the winter you need to take the halter out a little to accomodate those furry little heads. I have found with the minis, they are pretty accurate on the size of the horse with...

    costume ideas needed

I dressed my mare up as Christmas for a costume class. I used a mini Western saddle and took my Christmas toilet seat cover (the kind that ties to the seat lid) to cover the saddle seat and used stockings, wreaths, garland, etc. to decorate around that. I sat a Bear in the saddle with a pair of...

    Christmas Costumes

I dressed up my mare for a costume class as "Christmas". I put a western saddle on her, used a poinsettia garland around her neck (no bells), put a bear wearing sunglasses in the saddle, a little bear sitting in a wreath behind the big bear, red and gold ribbing flowing from her tail. I meant...

So Cal folks in fire danger

I'm in Orange County near the fire there. We are ok, we were not evacuated and there is no real danger for us right now. The fire is moving away from us, from what I can tell. I do know people who have been evacuated. The smoke is horrible at times. I'm glad somebody heard from Felicia. I...

    Spook'tacular Event in Roseville, CA

I would love to go, but can't. I have heard so much about it over the years. I will probably be in the area the following weekend, though. Sadly, it is way to far for me to drive two weekends in a row.

    how was your show season?

Congrats to all those who showed this year. No matter the outcome of a class, as long as my horses did what was expected of them, I was proud. We had a very successful show season this year. I've updated my website with their standings, except for the National All Star. For Area VII All...

    Home from Worlds

I do better in the Ammy classes, too, against some of the same horses. Go figure. I don't have either of mine driving, yet, though. Your guy is gorgeous, and from what I can see in the picture, has nice reach. Congrats on your Ammy placings!

    Beet pulp without molasses?

ThreeCFarm, I have a horse that I suspect is IR, too. Both shreds and pellets come with and without molases. I checked with all my feed stores to find the ones in my area that carry the beet pulp without molases. I feed the pellets, when I do feed beet pulp. Make sure you read the label...

What is the best coat or all around feed supplement you've used?

Disneyhorse, I have been using EquiPride for three years now and absolutely LOVE IT! The only other supplement I use is Color Check for coat color. I have seen a marked improvement in coat color on my Black mare and my Silver Bay gelding. Carol

Has anyone shown in open shows?

Love showing at the open shows. The one we go to has a class specifically for the minis (38" and under). These are a little harder, I think, than the AMHR shows (don't show AMHA). This is the show I intend to take my little ones to when they are broke to drive to get them use to show driving...

    Smokey Blacks

My Smoky Black is in my avitar. She is very black in the summer and in the winter, when clipped, is a beautiful slate gray color with black mane and tail. Her dam is black and her sire is cremello.
