    Favorite Part of a Horse?

I just love the velvety kissable muzzle, and the eyes of course.

    Hay!

I'm in Eastern NC. Getting hybrid bermuda out of the field for $3.25, but a few weeks ago I was forced to buy a bail from the local farm store for a whopping $8.00 :new_shocked: One year I paid $11.00 for one bail.I'm short on storage space, so I always run out before first cut. Hope to fix...

    Questions about Beet Pulp

My minis are on a dry lot of sand. I feed soaked beet pulp in the morning. I also feed (Walmart brand ) Equate fiber therapy sugar free for 5 days out of the month. Someone told me that the sugar free version is not good for horses as it contains aspertame. Anyone else hear this, or have any...

    Stall hay feeder??

I use small sheep/goat hay feeders from (Mid States Wool Growers , $34) . They hold one flake nicely and don't take up much space. I've been using them for 5 years without a problem .

    Essays for free mare.....

WOW!!! I'm new kind of to the back porch, so I haven't heard of this before. I'll have to tell my 11 year old niece about this. She LOVES horses and story writing. I'm sure she would enjoy entering the contest. She has a pony and a mini. I've NEVER seen a child have more passion for horses (or...

    New to Miniatures

We would love to have a farm of our own someday too. I'm doing the "backyard" mini thing at the moment. It's hard to find affordable land on the East Coast. We've been in NC for 13 years and it is booming with developments all around us. It truly sickens me to see all of the farms disappearing...

    Weight Watchers

I'm not a big breakfast fan either. I'm a night snacker too. I've found that a package of maple & brown sugar instant oatmeal in the morning helps greatly. You're not eating a lot, but it keeps you satisfied. I'm still night snacking, but I'm snacking on better snacks. I LOVE corn tortillas cut...

    Weight Watchers

Mom, Sis and I are 5 weeks in now. It seems to be working for us so far. I'm down 10, Mom's down 13 and my Sister is down 4 ( she really doesn't need to lose, she just goes to babysit us haa haa). Anyway, we're doing the monthly pass. The use of the website is helpful. We're sticking with it for...

    Your average hay price?????

3.00 to 3.50 for beautiful coastal here in Eastern NC. My hay guy is super picky about moisture content, no mold here! I don't feed alfalfa, but it's about 12.50 around here.

    Mini or Dwarf???

Tic Tac is around ten months old. She'll be a year in April sometime. I agree, she does have a high butt. The vet is coming out next week to have a look at her and see what needs to be done for her teeth. Maybe her bite can improve a little with some work. She is such a little sweetie .

    Mini or Dwarf???

Thanks! I wasn't sure what "hocky" meant either. So she is not hocky, but she did wear braces on her back legs shortly after birth to straighten them. I don't know what the term is, but her toes were pointing upward. They seem to be fine now. I know she's not breeding or show quality. She...
