Can someone point me in the right direction?

I sent you a private email thru this list but I guess you did not get it. You can join the Yahoo group WMP2 as this is a list for the Welsh pony people and I am sure there is someone there that can help you out as I am in Texas and I have Section A ponies. Thank you so much! No I didn't get...

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thank you! I've been going down the list of breeders one by one, but most seem to be the larger B's and a few A's. I seem to have a knack for, where ever I happen to live, getting interested in a discipline or breed that is difficult to find in that area.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I'm here in Virginia and have seen tons, and TONS of Welsh riding ponies (section B and above) but not as many of the little Section A's. Are they not as popular here as overseas? I've had and worked with Welsh crosses and I really loved their temperments (But then again I have this perverse...

    Non horsy husbands...

Mine is fond of saying he'd come riding with me "if we had a horse for him to ride". But he's also one to say I ought to sell the horses to have more time for my other pursuits. Go figure. Frankly, I don't have it in me to keep up two saddle horses for the ocassional friend or family riding...

    Black oil sunflower seeds

I'm a bit late but I'd like to add that BOSS really does wonders if you have a horse with dry skin/coat and dandruff. My mini came to me with dandruff the first spring and within a week on it she was over the flakes. Didn't notice any redness to her coat but she was silky black from head to toe...

Oh oh oh my turn for a gay marriage thread

What stuck in my craw about the whole Marriage Ammendment frakus was that the same sex marriage was pandereing to the fear of "Don't let the gays mess up marriage!! Oh no!" Um, excuse me? Forty percent (or more) of marriages end in divorce. The vast majority of which is heterosexual. Perhaps it...

    Gay Marriage Amendment

Ahem, not to nit pick, but that first statement probably means they were mearly curious or bi. Nothing wrong with either, but most legitimately homosexual people (ie, those who maintain relationships that are same sex and aren't in it for shock value, curiosity, or rebellion) didn't choose. They...

    Drinking Water

A friend of mine just pours liquid gatoraid into the bucket and mixes it for when she's showing or traveling since her mare sometimes gets picky when it comes to water. If you want to add gelatin you can get the unflavored stuff (This also works well for people, if you want to boost your hair...

    This irks me!

Oh, no! I have a filly who's just gotten to the age where she can be permanently registered but her name has one of the "off limits" words at the end. Does that mean I have to register her with a different name? I didn't particularly like her temporary registered name anyway and was going to see...

    Tomatoes everywhere....

If you like spaghetti sauce, I found a good recipe for roasted tomato sauce. It makes a great "jumping off" base for other sauces. Wash and halve (Or quarter) 2 pounds of toms. You want to remove the gel if there is any (I grow sauce tomatos, which are usually pretty dry) lay them on a baking...

Curious what this group thinks about sexual orientation

I'm completely okay with the live-and-let-live approach many have and commend you all on your open mindedness, but I do have to say if makes me giggle to read the whole "as long as they aren't blatant about it" thing I've seen whenever topics on homosexuals pop up. I've always wondered if...

    WHY????

I agree with Mountain Waif: Talk to the people first. There could be a reason for it. And even if there's animal control, do your homework that they know what they're doing, too. I have had horses half my life and have gone hungry so they could be fed and yet there's a busybody here that loves...

    What is with this weather?????

It's been really mild here too. When I woke up yesterday it was breezy and bright then by the mid afternoon it was COLD and gusting so badly one of the stop signs in the parking lot I work at curled around it's post and TORE. It looks like a big metal matchstick. Then it began to drizzle which...

sea horses, any one raise them and

Congratulations if you get into seahorses! I've had them twice in my life and they are just amazing creatures. Lot's of personality for something that wears it's skeleton on the outside. First of all, as with any animal DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Do it twice. Do it till you dream of seahorses and loved...

Their heart's in the right place....

Thanks for the advice, everyone. I was thinking of giving the warden's office a call tomorrow. I would like to know what was being complained about. James, my SO was there, and though he's not a horse person, he's learning . I know the warden is legit because my horsey neighbor was notified by...

Their heart's in the right place....

Sorry guys, just needed a little equine comiseration. I got a call today from my S.O. that the game warden in my area stopped by because we got a complaint from someone that our horses weren't being taken care of. Also someone called and said my horses were out on the road which never happened...

    Black Friday

I've worked in retail a total of five years now and ever since I got into it, for the most part, Christmas has lost much of it's charm. There were years when I was just thankful it was over with, which is a shame since it's my favorite holiday. (I'm one of those people you can hear Christmas...

    Bathing

For what it's worth, I have a little mare who hates being bathed and we're getting over it by showing her that A) water can be fun, and B) she can't easily walk off. I don't tie my young horses where they can't move as I don't want them injuring themselves when or if the flight instinct...
