" 'twas a MINIATURE Christmas"
(with a little help from some Forum members horses...)
[SIZE=14pt]“When on the barn roof there arose such a clatter,[/SIZE]
I sprang from my chair to see what was the matter,
Out the front door I ran in a dash,
With camera in one hand… the other, the flash.
The moon on the grass put on quite a show,
While the lights in the driveway gave off a soft glow,
Then, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh NOT pulled by reindeer!
I saw a red dressed gentleman give the whip a soft flick,
I knew in a moment … but ,….hey, what the heck..?
More rapid than eagles, these mini coursers came,
With the dressed in red gentleman calling their names,
On Timmy, On Holly,
On Image and Nick,
On Artie, On Ethel,
On Big City, On (you can add ANY of Getitias horses in here… LOL!)
And as my eyes adjusted to this awesome display,
(with thoughts that the end was near and that I should start to pray…)
I looked at the lead horse and thought…. WHAT THE HEY…?
It was my own stallion Warrior, all bright white and grey!
With his white mane a flying, he was leading the pack,
Then he pulled them down low , (he was looking for a snack…)
He was chubby and plump, not his usual show self,
(He’d been eating a lot, I have to talk to my feeding elf…!)
Then with a wink of his eye and a toss of his head,
He pulled the sleigh up and it just cleared MY head!
Up sprang the sleigh, Warrior gave a bright whistle,
And away they all flew… (out of Warriors mouth hung a thistle..)
And I heard them exclaim as they raced out of sight,
Merry Christmas to all, now let’s call it a night….!
