thanks everyone! This mare lost her first foal 3 years ago so that makes this one even more special. Last night we had 2 spotted donkey parents produce a solid grey dun girl. At least they got the gender right.

My mare is 148 days today. She was bred 1 time 1 day so I'm positive of the date. It took us 4 yrs of trying to finally get her to conceive which was totally unexpected. Should I be freaking out?!

Our mini foal is 6 days old. We've been spending time with him every day. When we get in the pen he comes right up to us to get scratched......until today! Now he doesn't want us to touch him!? We get hold of him anyway and rub,lightly scratch and talk in soft tones. Still scared. Is this normal?

I looked on 2 charts to see when my mini mares would be due. Mini chart says 13 days earlier than a full sized mare. Which is it?

I'm very sad to say we lost our only mini horse foal we were expecting this year. This was my favorite mare (a leopard appy) and her first foal. Aborted at 10 months and it was tangled up. 3 feet wanting to come out at the same time. We found her in the morning trying to push it out. Who knows...
