It states in his ad that he is futurity nominated in AMHR. He is 7 years old. what does it mean to be "futurity nominated? Is this something a breeder pays for so the offspring derive some benefit?

thanks for the education.

Yes it means his offspring that year can be futurity eligible if the mares that the stallion is bred to are also futurity nominated. So if you want futurity nominated babies, you can breed your mare to him and nominate your mare to make your baby nominated. This can help sell the baby to someone who shows at Nationals, or you can take the foal to Nationals and try to win some money. It is a separate class that offers futurity money paybacks.
