Little Tikes Giddy Up N Go Pony

I'm considering getting my grandson one for his birthday. Are they easy to ride/ Any comments from anyone that has seen them in person? It's a lot of money but doesn't eat much or make a mess. Andrew is a bit afraid of the real horses and I thought maybe this would help. I'm picking up Butterscotch the pony tomorrow for backup. Any opinions would be great!
