If you buy a colt that is out of a proven homozygous stallion and mare is it a homozygous for sure. Or could if possibly not get the gene.
 
Not quite sure if I understand the question, but I'll try. If a colt is out of two homozygous parents then the colt would be homozygous too. There is no way for either parent not to pass on the gene unless they are not homozygous.
 
Just make sure the parents are homozygous for the same thing! Such as both homozygous for tobiano, or both for black, etc.
