Ah, Secretariat- I had a scrap book with all kinds of stuff on him in it when I was a girl.
I like horse racing, however do NOT agree with breaking yearlings to make a buck. And, knowing personally many people who were either owners or trainers, did not care for the way that many folks in that field treat them as a commodity item to make money on and nothing more, rather than a living, feeling being.
Well, I won't even get started on that, cause I have a lot of issues there and with other fields of horsemanship just due to the prize money that might be obtained by rushing these babies into an event that should be left for a much more mature horse. <sigh>
