Since we're guessing can I say that it's one of those little rubber horsey balls? Maybe someone was playing a bit too hard and lost hold and up it went

It is a jolly ball and yes I think my Sheltand MP boy threw it up there, just to see if I could find it. He and his daddy are both avid jolly ball players.
