Our 2007 appy colt is out of a grulla varnish roan snowcap mare and is sired by a black varnish roan near leopard overoloosa.. With him being out of two varnish roan horses, will he more than likely lose the dark color he has to the roaning and go 'white'?
And do you think he will spot out in the white area? He has several dark skinned spots throughout his white area (most are a tad bigger than the size of a pencil eraser) You can see some in the second picture above and then there's this picture:
His dad did not have visible spots when he was born but when clipped out as a weanling spots were found and now he is a near leopard (but I think he is actually going to totally leopard out as he keeps getting more and more spots every year and they're now clear up his neck and face)
