You got lucky with your donkey.
I can't tell folks what to think or do. But do your research before using a small donkey to protect. Again.. Ella.. a B sized Jenny DONKEY... was attacked by a Bobcat not to long ago. Lots of damage to her body but the worse was when it laid her face open to the bone.
She wasn't bought to be a guard animal.... but she got hurt any way.
I know a number of donkeys now,, that have either been killed by a predator... or not protected like the owner thought it would and killed sheep or goats. There is more to it than saying... get this or get that.
Proper Fencing is first and foremost, your first line of defence. Do your research!
