I have a mini thats part shetland. Can an ASPC mae be bred to an AMHR stud and have an AMHR or ASPC eligable foal?

The mare and stallion both have to be ASPC/AMHR registered to have an ASPC/AMHR registered colt.

ASPC x AMHR = not eligible for ASPC or AMHR

ASPC/AMHR x AMHR = eligible for AMHR

ASPC x ASPC/AMHR = eligible for ASPC

ASPC/AMHR x ASPC/AMHR = eligible for both ASPC and AMHR

ASPC/AMHR means the horse has both ASPC and AMHR papers.

You can hardship into AMHR as it is a height registry. To hardship the pony has to be under 38" at the last hair of the mane and at least 3 yrs old.

You cannot hardship into ASPC as it is a breed registry.

You can only hardship into AMHR if the horse is already ASPC registered and then not until they are 3 yrs of age. Not any horse under 38" can be registered, they must first be AMHA, ASPC or fallabella registered.

Which makes AMHR not just a height registry, would be more comparable to AQHA were Thoroughbred appendix registration is allowed.
