I am trying to learn about different genes

My stud is tested neg for LWO gene, homozgyous for black

what do you all this he carries gene wise?

His first two foals

2010 two blue eyes black pinto filly

2011 two blue eyes black pinto colt

so far two blue eyed foals by brown eye mares.

i would love to see photos of foals by my studs sire and dam names below. I think both my studs sire and have blue eyes.I wondering if the foals they are having are wildly marked.

My splash stallion throws almost all blue eyes even out of brown eyed mares.

LWO is "Frame", there is no test for Splash; they are two different patterns/genes.

I love the overos and the wild ones!

Yes, an overo is kind of a generic pattern term. You can have a sabino overo, splash overo, frame overo....

He is LWO neg meaning he is negative for the frame overo gene. But, by just looking at him (since he is neg for frame), you can tell that he is a splash overo. Unfortunately, there isn't a test for it yet
