Mulled Apple Cider
1 gallon of cider
1 cup brown sugar
8 cinnamon sticks (about 2'' long pieces)
1 T. whole cloves
1 T. whole allspice
1/2 tsp. mace
1/2 tsp. salt
Put spices in a cheese cloth bag and tie shut with string, simmer in large pot with your cider until hot and serve.
Or if you have one of those older Big 30 cup coffee pots that perkulate.....put spices in the top basket and cider in the bottom and perk as you would coffee. This only works if you have one of those 30 cup pots, don't try it in a regular coffee pot..
