How do they judge at Nationals? I think I've heard at one point, but forgot. With 3 judges out there they're not giving each judge's opinion, so how do they come up with the placings? I thought I heard it's computerized somehow??? Really enjoy watching the Nationals at home....although tough to get stuff done.
 
It's called the MOS system: Majority Opinion Three-Judge Scoring System...

The MOS is not a true average and the algorithm is so complicated no one can explain what would happen given particular scores, but it is considered the fairest system available.

Part of the reason it is so extremely complicated is because one of the judge's placings are "weighted" (i.e., the "call" judge)...and the "call" judge changes from class to class.
