My daughter just called and told me a man was killed and his girlfriend critically injured last night. It happened about 2 miles from where I live. It was evidently a revenge shooting by a drug dealer who wasn't happy that the man was going to turn states evidence against him. Evidently she was coherent enough to tell the police who the shooter was before she was life flighted to the hospital. If you have a moment please say a quick prayer for Gina. She's in surgery now.

It's a scary world!

Another body has been found now. That's 4 killed and Gina the wife of the first one was shot in the neck. She evidently regained consciousness after the shooting long enough to call 911. According to the news the hospital she's in is on lockdown for fear he'll come there to find her. Latest report is that she's expected to survive her wound.

His car was stopped somewhere and one person failed to get away. They supposedly found a list of the people he plans to kill. But I don't know where they were when they took off on foot. Sure wish I did. I normally don't mind living alone but this is definitely uncomfortable.

Scary stuff. There's just too much of this going on everywhere. I wonder sometimes how long our quiet little neighborhood here will stay that way.

There is a manhunt on in Winnipeg--a couple or three days ago there were 3 shootings in one area of the city, 2 men were killed and a 13 year old girl badly injured--all 3 shootings took place within the span of 35 minutes. According to news reports the shooter was riding a bicycle, and at least one witness said he/she/it was dressed as a ninja. The shootings appear to be random but you have to wonder if they really are. Sometimes gang or drug related shootings get the wrong person...and that is the really scary part.

Hopefully he/they weren't in your area when they took off on foot. o the police know, then, who they are looking for? Have they released a description of the person(s) to the media?

The world just keeps getting crazier! I saw that on the news today and over here on the Illinois side less than 5 miles from where I work is where that convicted murder kidnapped those two women from a payday to loan place yesterday, thankfully he let them go in St. Louis. Scarry!!

They do know who did it and ran his picture on TV. They're warning "anyone who has had dealings with" him "especially negative dealings" to get out of Dodge.

The other 2 people killed were a man and wife. He's armed with a high power rifle and a pistol. The home of the first couple killed burned down about a month ago. Evidently there's some suspicion (at least on the rumor mill) that he had something to do with it. Evidently the 5th victim and the fact that he's on foot were just rumor, as they have road blocks out and are stopping all cars that are the same as his.

In addition to locking down the hospital (which is about 30 miles away) one school locked down and refused to let the children off the busses unless there was an adult there to escort them home. They were taken back to the school instead and kept there until someone came to get them.

They're saying these are not random targets and that his victims are all people who have had dealings with him. He's only 24 years old. Gotta admit I'll sure feel better once he's behind bars.

It isn't safe any more. That is why I have my big dog. I think someone would have to be crazy to come into my house uninvited. When Brandy was about 6 months old we had two hispanic men try to get me to let them in my house at 2:30am. She put her front feet up on the front door at the base of the glass barking like "Just try it". One tugged on the other and they left. She now weighs about 100lbs. Thing is we do not just have Brandy. We have my alarm system; Bea (13yr old 1 3/4lb yorkie), Precious (6yr old 4lb toy poodle) and Amy, Buddy, Cookie and Dizzy (the Chin group). They all sleep on my bed plus a couple of cats. Someone would need a machine gun to get everyone. By that time the cops would be there.

Wow, that is scary, i'd be a mess until they found him. Hopefully they will get him soon. It seems like everyday on the news there is something like this going on. We don't have anything this bad going on in our small town right now but we do have someone that's breaking into homes and stealing random items. We don't have any kind of routine here of our comings and goings but when i do leave i've been leaving lights and a tv on just so it looks like someones here.

Good luck and stay safe!!

I'm happy to say he's been arrested. Gotta admit that I slept better last night.

You're right Laurie it almost seems to be common to hear about something like this......just not in your own neighborhood. Evidently it had nothing to do with drugs, but robbery. Supposedly everyone he attacked was going to testify against him for theft.
