Oh man, I hope it goes really well and she feels better very soon!!!

Well, I got her and the news is not all good. She does have a pretty significant heart murmur. It is a weird enough case that they submitted and got her accepted for a complete cardiac consultation with ultrasound exam by Dr. Virginia Reef on June 5 & 6. This exam is part of a teaching lab in conjunction with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine annual meeting (thankfully at no charge to me!!! believe me, my bill is astonishingly high as of today...). Apparently Dr. Reef is one of the top equine cardiac specialists. So it is very good that Gaia's heart disease was discovered now, with the meeting so close in time and proximity. It is bad that she has a weird and bad enough problem that they accepted her.

Here are the discharge notes: ECG findings show the presence of a 2nd degree atrioventricular (AV) block. Occasional ventricular premature contractions were present. A brief cardiac ultrasound was performed and vegetative endocarditis was suspected.

The polyp thing is over and done with and should present no further problems.

edited to add: My poor little girly went in really petite already at 184 lbs. and lost 22 lbs., coming out at 162! She looks so skinny.

Gaia is definitely a skinny little girl, I was there when she got weighed. She's probably two inches taller than Kody and he weighed in at a comparatively hefty 220lbs after his chiropractic appointment! :new_shocked: Poor little filly. She is absolutely gorgeous though and very inquisitive. I got a couple of cute pictures of her as she whuffled at my boy.

I am so sorry to hear her heart condition is so severe. It's great(in it's own way) that you are able to get her into that teaching school for full work up on it. I hope there will be something that they can do for her. Sending continued prayers.
