Free online virus scan

My new (new months ago) laptop came with a McAfee free (highly annoying) program. What do you all recommend for effective online FREE virus/spyware scanning programs?

Very good, non obtrusive.

I ditto the AVG!! I have been running AVG for several years now, and have had no problems with it at all. Love it!

Just remember to go in and remove all traces of the Norton before downloading AVG, or they will conflict.

I put AVG on my new laptop and when my Norton subscription runs out on my desktop, I'll switch it to AVG.

I've been looking for a good free one as well...I now have McAffee and when it scans I have to pretty much quit what I'm doing as it slows everything down.

This AVG is it actually free? It says to download for $54.00?

There are two versions...the free one has just the very basics, the other does it all.

I had someone put symantec on mine - don't like it - never have - now when I try to uninstall it it says I need a password. I have no idea what that could be

When I asked the guy that installed it he said try this - tried it to no avail.
