I have a mare that is blind in both eyes from two different accidents. She was blind when we got her and also bred at that time.We put a turkey bell around her neck tied with some very thin elastic. Make sure you put larger elastic as the foal grows. She was a very good mother .The hardest part was when it was time to wean,that was stressful. She never disciplined her foals , but they always did well after weaning when they were with other foals. We don't breed her anymore because I decided what she was producing mostly average foals. Some were better than others,so we just retired her. Good Luck
