I have a colt born in April 2010 whom I never registered with AMHR until now. As I look at the work order, I am thinking I am supposed to register him as a yearling because it is now after January 1st. Am I right??

Correct! Any horse that was born in 2010 is now a yearling regardless of when in 2010 they were born..

Yes, according to the work order, all horses are one year older on Jan 1. So every foal registered now with AMHR that was born in 2010 would be considered a yearling.
