    Boarding options in NW Oregon

This may be a long shot, but hoping folks could offer some suggestions. My 19 yr old gelding is in need of a boarding stable. It has been hard to find places that are safe for minis, especially fencing and gates they can't put their heads through. Is anyway aware of stables in the greater Oregon...

Looking for info on a couple of mares

Trying to find some information on a couple mares in my little guy's background. The first is Rowdys Shadow, by Rowdy. But I have no info on her dam's side. The other is DRBs Sweet Sue, which I have no info on. Both mares are AMHA I believe. Would like pedigree, color and photos for either...

Miniature friendly boarding near Portland, OR

I am looking to bring my gelding to the outer SE Portland area (Milwaukie, Happy Valley, Clackamas, Oregon City). Does anyone know of any boarding stables that are miniature friendly? Or is there anyone on here with an open stall or pen next spring that wouldn't mind a boarder? Thanks for any...

    Different types of mini

Spotted Pony Girl, I totally love your guy. That long stride is just so great to see in a mini. I really wish at least some breeders would produce types other than the Arabs. American Miniature Horse, not Arab Miniature Horse.

    What is the WCMHR?

I know it is the World Class Miniature Horse Registry, but how did it form and why? I went to the website but there wasn't alot of info on who they are and what they are trying to do. Is anyone on here members and/or show in that circuit?

    My newest addition

I am not 100% she is female, but it is most likely. You can ID a male because they have club-looking pedipalps (the smaller legs in front) and tibial spurs. This one has very pointy pedipalps and no visible spurs. When she has her first molt I will be able to tell for sure. I haven't held...

    My newest addition

I finally got the tarantula I have been wanting for years. I told Greg that I wanted that for Valentine's Day, instead of riding lessons or flowers and chocolate. Went out last night and got her. This is El Reina Rojo, or The Red Queen (little hat tip to the movie Resident Evil). She is a...

It's true about the Vicks. I went in for toenail fungus and the doctor told me the same thing. May also want to try once a week vinegar soaks for 20 mins.

    Who's that horse?

I am one of the few with a full-size horse in my avatar. That is Koppre Kai Bahr, or Cadence, an Egyptian Arabian and the last big horse I owned.

    Picturs of Rowdy get

This is my Rowdy great-grandson, out of countryrose's former stallion NFC's Enticing Shadow. His name is 3M's Coffee Buzz, and while he is definately not a halter horse, boy can he jump! And he is fearless in obstacle. (Excuse the wierd eye color, Picture It!'s idea of fixing red eye)

    can someone tell me why??

I have to join the whining. I am down to one mini now, and I only get to see him a few times a year, because I am at college and he is on the other side of the state with my parents. I don't get to do any training with him, which is really frustrating for me, cause then we don't do as well at...

New Partylite consultant (or trying to be)

RainSong, there is a way for a consultant to send you an invite to a party by email. You click on the "I can't make it" button and it takes you to the online catalog. Somehow that lets you order online, so even if there isn't a consultant in your area, you can still order. I will ask my...

New Partylite consultant (or trying to be)

I am having my first Partylite show on Friday, in Colfax, WA. Does anyone else here on the board a Partylite consultant? Do you have any advice for my first show? Also, if there is anyone in the Colfax-Pullman area that would like to come, I would love to have you there and meet more mini...

New program USDA is going to implement

Of The Horses You Own, What NAMES

Of the horses Mom and I both own, the one with my favorite name is the only one with our prefix and our first miniature foal: RMH Karteria. Karteria is Ancient Greek for perseverance, and I chose it because of all the trials we went through getting her on the ground.

    Please answer honestly

OK, I will be a bold one and reply. I do not support horse slaughter the way it is happening now. However, if they started raising horses specifically for meat, like cows, pigs, chickens, etc are, I would not have a problem with it. There are many countries where they eat horses. And I...

    Color question

Looks like he is still gonna be a bay. Kinda a phase bays go through as they lose their baby coat.

    Where is the breed going?

I agree with WCR in that there is a definate separation of halter horses and performance horses occuring. And I find this very unfortunate. IMHO, it is sad when there are whole lines of horses that are shown til they are three, then retired to breeding stock to produce foals that will be shown...
