Thanks for the advice. I will try some redirecting to see if that helps him. I am just glad to know that it is a pretty common behavior for foals. I was worried we were raising a little turd!
As for the "snip-snip" we will be getting that done when he is a year old for sure!
Need some advice on what to do with a 4-month-old colt. He is always trying to bite us and often tries to jump up on me. I have tried everything I can think of to make him learn he can't act that way but nothing seems to be getting through to him. After I discipline him he usually turns away...
Good to know about the turkeys being good for taking care of the snakes. We actually acquired three from our friends a month ago. They are not very noisy, just not so pretty to look at!
Not sure what kind of snake that was, but I have heard that guinea fowl are good "watchdogs" for snakes and will even kill them sometimes. I had thought about getting some this year but just never did. One warning though, I have also heard they can be a little noisy.
Our goats are the same way with wanting all the other animals' feeds. Good to know about the chicken feed though; I never knew it was that dangerous for them!
We do feed ours grain. We feed Nutrena Goat Pellets When we got the goats we did lots of research on what to feed them. For the urinary...
Not sure on what needs to be done, but I do have a question about the second picture. What is the ring around the hoof where it looks indented? We have a 2 month-old colt that has the same thing and I was just curious.
I think canning is coming back somewhat. People here seem to be getting more back into having gardens. My mom taught me how to can after I got married, 13 years ago. I did not do much canning until last year and I went crazy with it! I still have pickles in the pantry from last year that we are...
I believe the lady should go to jail! That is just sickening! Why on earth would anyone get to the point of having so many horses and so many dogs? Obviously she is not selling them! Just infuriates me that people get away with stuff like this. It really makes you wonder if something is messed...
Well I can tell you on the diet that our vet told us to just feed them a good grass hay. We have only had them a year and the man we bought them from was feeding them sweet feed so they were used to getting grain. We stopped the sweet feed after we got them a year ago and tried some different...
I used to be terrified of those when I was a kid because I always thought they were chasing me... It is weird because we used have tons of those around but I have not seen one in years now.
