: He is jet black , although he looks bay in these pictures. He is actually a mnimal tovero and has thrown overos, some with blue eyes.

Here is our newest 'black' horse, McSperitts Rowdy Night Image, 28.75" black frame overo Rowdy grandson. We just love this little horse and his first Redrock foals are due in 2007. He is jet black.

Her is my baby girl - nothing show fancy just a pet and she was born here with me,lost her mom at the end of last winter . Her names is Bella Blue, she is now going on 2 years old - younger photo is when she was only a few days old

Here are some pictures of some of our blacks. We have a couple of more than what is shown, but I didn't get pictures of them this year.

The pictures are taken with all the horses coming straight out of the pasture. These guys are never confined to a stall. All 3 are non-sun fading types of true blacks. If I stall them, then they actually get a blue tint to their coats. In fact, on Jesse you can almost see the blue color coming from his coat.

he is the result of several generations of b&W pintos who turned completely grey before anyone got to know them.

his grandsire was a Paul Bunyon son named Hidden Meadows Holy Smoke

and then there was Kenny, the black leopard colt we had in 2005:

Here is our little black mare "Pines Midnight" She doesn't have any white hairs on her and maintains her rich black color even during the summer months -

This is Midnight's '05 filly - "Mystic Blackberry Jam" (owned by liljammers on the forum) - This filly is an absolute doll and just loves people and attention-

This is "Mystic Sooti Katrina" also very black and a real sweetheart-

Both of my black mares had palomino foals out of our cremello stallion this year - it was funny to see the contrast and people would comment on "whether" those babies really belonged to those mares.

here is our black mini mare Bella Noche, who we are calling "belly" right now because she is due in February... she has 4 white feet and a tiny star, and a white streak in her tail.

and the only other black horse we have is my pony Skeye who is solid black with 2 blue eyes... not a mini but not a "big" horse either LOL

RF Bars I'm Cool Too.. (AMHA/AMHR gelding). He is a multiple AMHA World Top Ten and Honor Roll Horse that I showed for years for the RF Bar Ranch. He was sold to a lovely couple during the RF Bar Ranch dispersal sale and is being a great kids horse for their grandchildren..

I just love solid black and would love to find a very tiny (26-27") solid black stallion that is homozygous for black. Anybody know of one?
