Prices not bad

Just wondering do they have the right to bid up their own horses?

Maybe that is why NS find that is what happens alot at our Auctions in Ontario Canada.

wow NS at $36,000! wonder what the asking price was?

Obviously the market is still good for high quality horses.

The people who owned this horse had turned down an offer of $125,000 for her last year. I guess they should have taken it.

I had a horse in this auction. When you get the horse to be accepted for the auction, you have to give them a reserve bid. If the bidding does not get to the reserve bid, the horse is automatically NS. Even if you are in the audience and would like to take the bid, they will not.

Ok thanks, was just wondering, how it worked there?

Gosh, who was the horse that the people turned down $125,000. for last year?

She was Aloha Acres Magic Krystal. A 4 year old chestnut pinto mare. I am not 100% sure on the $125,000 that was turned down for her last year, that is just what I was told by a trainer.

With the market the way it is, there are many amazing horses that are available for a lot less, so I am thinking these people just don't really want to sell her for some reason. I priced a gelding at $75,000 the other day. The lady just looked at me and said you don't really want to sell him if you are asking that. I had to agree. I just told her that I didn't want to sell him, but if someone was willing to give me $75,000 for him, he would probably have a good home and if I had that sort of money, I could afford to go check on him periodically. She just shook her head and walked away.

Unfortunately, I have about 8 or 10 of those. A couple I would do a bargain price of $50,000.

Gotta love those geldings that will pull a cart, carry small children on a saddle and allow all sorts of fussing and hugs and kiddy kisses--all without nibbling on little fingers that will always get near the mouth when I am not looking.
