Ginny had her foal a week ago Sunday, all is well and the baby is growing like a weed. My question, Ginny is a therapy horse and goes to the nursing home I work at as a RN, the residents, and many of the dementia residents don't remember much but they REMEMBER Ginny was going to have a baby. I would love to bring Ginny and baby Tilly to the facility (not inside to start of course) but outside in the lawn so each resident can see Ginny and the baby. I need to trailor them both about 20 minutes, is this a safe thing to do, what do you all recommend? Ginny has no issues in the trailer. I thought when Tilly was about a month old would be a alright. Thoughts?

A month old sounds good. Horses are pretty much born "mentally ready to go" they aren't helpless babies like humans so we tend to be more apt to coddle them...

But if mom is good in the trailer she will be a good role model for baby.

A few practice runs would be helpful, just around the block.
