Hello, just a quick question.. I was wondering what type of lime is safe to use around mini's. With a lot of rain and just the warmer weather, I wanted to start using some lime. But, I don't know what would be safe.. Thanks for any help in advance!! :bgrin

We prefer to use Sweet PDZ over Lime. PDZ is extremely safe while Lime burns the skin.

We use lime and have for many years. But the important thing is to buy the right kind of lime. You must only use non-burning barn lime. The bag should specifically say this otherwise it is not safe and will burn. We use it especially under straw in foaling stalls with great success. It is a natural disinfectant and deoderizer, plus helps in keeping flies down. You can usually buy it at farm and ranch supply stores of feed stores. The powder form goes further than the granular and stays well put once you have it down and settled.
