What kind of cart is this?

Would it be okay for local shows and maybe ADTs? I'm worried about back support, or the lack thereof.

It doesn't look like it has any springs or shocks so it could be quite bouncy

Balance is more important than looks. Have you had someone sit in the cart and with you between the shafts like a horse? If there is weight on you with a passenger, there will be weight on your horse. The horse should pull the weight, not carry it on his back.

I once had a horse cart (full size) without springs. It was okay, but definitely would jar you if the ground was rough at all. Those two little springs many of the EE carts have under the seat really do make a huge difference in comfort. It doesn't look like that cart has any means of balancing it (by moving seat or axle) so it may not sit properly on a lot of horses. If your horse is just the right size it may be okay, but if it isn't it will either put too much weight on his back or be pulling up on the girth/wrap straps
