I have a mini donkey that just turned 5 this spring. We have been trying to get her bred by our mini stallion for a couple of years now, but nothing ever happens. They grew up together so I thought my stallion might be more inclined, but no. I took her to a friends little stallion when she was in heat and he was very willing, but even tied off she wouldn't let him mount. I finally got a little jack that I was told was a year and a half old. I thought things might start to happen. I started checking her bag this spring, and she was starting to produce a little fluid so I got all excited. That was in March. I finally had the vet come out and palp her last week and she didn't feel anything. How discouraging! Now I found her back in heat again and although the jack mounts up, he doesn't extend!! What does that mean? Why did she start to produce milk? Why can we not get this right?!?!! I have great luck with my mini horses. I'm fixin' to give up on the whole thing. Help! L
