Well we had to cancel her surgery as we found out last week that Boston Children's doesn't take our insurance. Now we have to pick another hospital and reshcedule. I'm just hoping we can get it done before Septmeber as that's when she goes back to school. She can't afford to miss any more. She has missed almost 3 weeks this year total for all her sickness's, surgeries, and appointments. We are trying to get the hospital to eat their bills as they never once told me they didn't take it and did the biopsy and eveything when they knew they didn't take it. They even took my specialist co-pay for the consultation.

Hi, Christy!

I'm sure YOU are sick of the rollercoaster ride this has been, and will be glad when it is over! Prayers sent for you, that you will have the strength and peace to get through it.

You have my sympathy; what a pain to have to deal with insurance questions and rescheduling when your baby is sick...

Best wishes, hugs, and good luck x10!

Gee, Children's is supposed to be such a great hospital...

That's terrible. You think that would be the first thing they would check before they even schedule stuff for you. Sorry to hear about your trouble.

I am sorry to hear this. And I am not sick of hearing about Cassidy I have wondered how you made out. This is such a wonderful country and how we take care of our own.......

If you were from outside of this country you could probably get it done for free....

Keep on fighting and be demanding and accept nothing anyone tells you as the final say.

Keep demanding to speak to higher ups.

Get your hometown paper to maybe do a story on your fight for your daughter.

Remember about the squeaky wheel.......

Prayers are being said for your family and Keep your chin up

Hugs

Thanks Bonnie. I didn't even think of having the paper do a story on it.

That's awful that you have to reschedule, AND deal with insurance and hospital billing junk when you are just wanting your sweet daughter to get better. What a pain! I sure hope that the whole mess works out for you and Cassidy can get her surgery SOON!

I just got an PM from someone that said I should write a letter to the hospital and tell them exactly what happened and that if they don't take care of the bills that I will report them to the BBB. I'm thinking of doing that. I haven't gotten the bill for the biopsy yet, but I'm sure I will.

If you cant get anywhere with them call the St. Judes hopital in Memphis. They are so wonderful and will take her , no questions asked. Its a remarkable hospital.

Keeping all of you in my prayers.

I know the Shriner's are associated mainly with burns but they my be able to help. Or recommend something to you. You can get phone numbers off of their web site.

Christy

They are now treating other diseases at St Judes. I went to the right side column and clicked on other diseases there is now a long list.....

Praying really hard for all of your family

Gini
Thanks Gini. I looked on it, but didn't see lipoma's. I did email them with the question if they treated lipoma's. So hopefully they will get back to me.

CHristy

Christy, I went in and looked under Diseases on the right hand side and then clicked on Brain Tumors under that is a list of several one of which is Ganglioglioma. Is that what Cassidy has? It says they are rare benign tumors....ect.

I sure hope St. Jude's can help Cassidy.

Christy, I hope this will make you rest a bit easier.

I have had a few lypomas removed and a couple that I left alone. They are a benign tumor made of fatty tissue. It should be a pretty straightforward surgery that she will bounce back very quickly from. Mine were removed at the day surgery place, with one done in the office. I wish you all the best and hope it will be behind you soon.

I know. My husband had one the size of 2 grapefruits in his arm at 18. They run in his family I guess. They did say the surgery would be very sratight forward, unless they run into complications. It's 1/2 way down her thigh into her knee, the knee is where there might be a problem. They said they wanted to keep her overnight just becasue she's a kid and to make sure everything is fine.

Thank you,

Christy

Christy if you write the letter to the hospital you need to tell them that you will report them to the Insurance Commission. They handle all the complaints for patients regarding Doctors and hospitals.
