Interesting how those "fraudsters" get your private information from PayPal. Always makes you wonder if it isn't someone who works for them?

Dumb question? Did you log into your paypal account and make sure that address wasn't there? They are getting so sneaky lately

I started recieving this particular scam about a month ago. It threw me for a few seconds, as it was not the usual one that I get. However, as soon as I saw the TO: was filled with about 15 other names, I realized it was a fraud. However, just to be sure, I always double check my account through www.paypal.com to verify that all is well.

NEVER EVER click on ANY link sent from "Paypal". The REAL Paypal does not EVER ask you to do that, so if there is a link to click to "verify" or anything, DON'T DO IT!!

These emails have been around for a long time now...I'd say at least a year. There are also emails that are supposedly from Ebay, but they are not.

The way to know if it is a sam or not is this: Put your cursos on the link that you are supposed to click on. Look down in your task bar(the one on the bottom of the screen that shows what web page you are accessing and then says "done" when the page is done loading. Look at the address that appears when you put your cursor over the link you are supposed to click. If it is a legtimate Paypal or Ebay web page, there will always be ebay.com/ or paypal.com/ I am talking about the first / after the http://. If the link that is showing has anything like mypage.com/paypal/login/ or anthing like that, it is a bogus email. They will use all sorts of things to make it look legit. When you click on the bogus links the pages you come to look very much like the official pages of Paypal and Ebay.

Hope this helps! DO NOT EVER type in any personal info into any bogus pages that you come to from these scam emails.

I get tons of these.

A good policy is to forward any "PayPal" e-mails to [email protected] and wait for confirmation on whether or not it's real. I've never had a legit e-mail from PayPal in ... well, all the years I've been signed up with them. They just don't need to e-mail you about your account.
