Here is our first foal. He was born Feb. 8 He weighed in at 10-15 lbs and is 18 inches tall. He is a mousy grey color. His mama is black and his daddy was a dapple gray. What do ya'll think his color will be.............any guesses....lol......

Thank you we are excited about him. His mama's sister foaled back in May of 2006 but we lost it due to a cord wrapped around his neck. So we are very excited and proud of him....

Congratulations on your new foal! :aktion033:

He looks to be a silver dapple. Cute!

I'll bet daddy was a Silver Black, not a Grey, as that is what your cutie pie is, Silver Black!!!

He looks like an adorable silver dapple boy to me! Congratulations on the cutie

Adorable little guy, nice photo! He looks like every silver dapple we had born at Serenity Acres.

Congratulations on a successful foaling!

Sandy

PS: love the dog sweater :bgrin

:new_shocked: He sure is a looker, and I too say a silver dapple.

Does he have blue eyes??

Very nice, congratulations!

What a doll baby! Doesn't he just look like you should pick him up and put him in the middle of your bed?

I'd say silver like his mom.

Congratualtions on your darling boy!

Charlotte

THank you all for the nice compliments. Do they silver blacks turn grey.......

What a cutie! Congratulations!

No, silver blacks/silver dapples do not turn gray. A gray is a horse that starts out any other color and gradually turns to white. A silver dapple (or silver black, whatever you choose to call them) will remain that color for life.
