I WOULD LIKE TO GET EVERYONES THOUGHTS ON A SHOW OUR CLUB (ARKANSAS MINIATURE HORSE SOCIETY) HERE IN ARKANSAS, IS TRYING TO PUT TOGETHER.

WE WOULD LIKE TO INVITE EVERYONE TO THIS SHOW (HOPEFULLY) TO BE HELD IN TUNICA MISSISSIPPI! WE THINK IT COULD BE LOTS OF FUN.

THE FACILITY IS AMAZING. NICE BIG INDOOR ARENA, WITH AIR AND HEAT, THE STALLS ARE LOCATED INSIDE ALSO. YOU CAN GO TO THEIR WEB SITE AND CHECK IT OUT.

THE SHOW IS SET FOR THE SECOND WEEK IN AUGUST. WE TRIED TO SET IT SO MOST SHOWS WOULD BE COMPLETED, BUT CLOSE ENOUGH TO NATIONALS TO KEEP YOUR HORSES IN SHOW SHAPE. IT IS RIGHT THERE CLOSE TO THE CASINO'S SO AFTER THE SHOW YOU CAN HAVE SOME MORE FUN.

SO ANYWAY, WE WOULD LIKE TO GET SOME INPUT FROM YOU. WHO THINKS THEY MIGHT LIKE TO COME?

WE WILL BE ADVERTISING SOON, BUT I THINK CLASSES WILL BE THE SAME AS MOST SHOWS. ERICA AND TERRI CAN ANSWER MOST QUESTIONS ABOUT THE SHOW AND FACILTY, I REALLY JUST WANTED TO GET A FEEL OF PEOPLE THAT MAY BE INTERESTED IN COMING.

THANKS ,

LINDA KILLION

I might be able to add a little information.

First off we tried for a date in July -but the arena was already booked, we did the best we could as far as dates to not conflict with any AMHR even remotely close to the day of this show (which we have booked for the second weekend in August)

It will be located in Tunica, Mississippi and here is a web address http://www.tunicaarenaexpo.com/ for those wanting to see it. Once on that site then go to "site map" for a virtual tour.

The arena looks wonderful - very close to that of Tulsa's. The arena is air conditioned (which will be a plus for a summer show!) and will be a wonderful driving and liberty arena. The stalls all have rubber mats down in them - everything is covered, wash racks ext.....They have RV hookups, concession in arena ext...

It will be a 2 judge show - minis (A-B) Classics and Moderns. Nice ribbons and awards to be given. Supreme classes offered in Open and Ammy, Youth Champion classes offered.

Will be a good show before Nationals, After Congress and for those that also need maybe some last minute points too....There aren't many (if any) AMHR shows in MS so hoping that the surrounding states along too will join in for the fun.

Hi Linda and Erica, we would plan on coming as the show is reasonably close for us. Probably would bring about 6, maybe just the shetlands. Cindy

I would love to come to a show in Tunica and I know that the other people that

live in Memphis and near Memphis would come. It would be nice to have a show

closer to home. Let me know if i can make this happen.

Selina-

I think Terri (minih) from our club has already sent in the deposit to the arena to hold it and are working on getting show manager and stuff into AMHR ext.........so as of now if all goes well it will be down in the books for next year.

I have talked to a few of the people I remember from MidSouth that were from MS and they are planning on putting some horses into R and coming up as well.

If you need anytime of items to giveaway or raffle off, let me know.

I could get some stuff from the Western Stores here.

Thanks, Selina

We sure hope to be able to come !! Sounds like a great time...

I only have one AMHR horse, but count on me. I haven't been to any shows and don't know a thing, but I would like to start. Guess I'll have to start working with her, she's a chubbo.

Just out of curiousity since this is an Arkansas club why isn't the show in Arkansas

? Too far from me but sounds great.

Will come if possible. Probably a few more from our club.

Due to Arkansas' lack of a REALLY nice arena and stalling facility is the number one reason. Tunica is REALLY close to the AR state line though.....

We would be the AMHS (Arkansas Miniature Horse Society)

The NorthWest AR club also hosts their shows in Claremore, OK - for the same reason as above I would think.

We found one arena in Clarkesville, AR - yet it wasn't anything "special" at all - no wash racks,ext.........and it was the same price as this wonderful arena at Tunica. then you have one at Texarkana, way down in just about Texas that looked nice yet we couldn't ever contact anyone that would tell us anything about it so gave up. Then you have Barton (at the state fairgrounds) which is nice, but I am sure it is outrageous and they have awful stalling situations and aren't located in a good part of town.

Yep, Erica's right. Not too many places in Arkansas for a show. Our Northwest Arkansas club holds our shows in Claremore, OK for the same reason. Have heard tho that Bentonville, AR is FINALLY getting around to building new facilities. We hope they have a great place, if so, we might be going back to Arkansas in 2007 or 2008.

Selina, we have a sponsor letter we will be sending out later, if you could send me the name and address of the store we could send a proposal letter to them when we start sending those out. Thank you for your offer and we will keep it in mind. I am really excited about this show, it does have the makings for a really good time.

Sounds great to me. We will bring a couple of horses - especially some young ones to get them ready for nationals. Make sure to send me a sponsor letter, too.

Thanks for the effort - I know it is a lot of work to put on a show.

JUST WANTED EVERYONE TO KNOW ...................

THE VENDER SET UP PRICE IS VERY VERY RESONABLE !!

ANYONE INTERESTED SHOULD CONTACT ERICA OR MINI H. (TERRI)

WE WOULD WELCOME ANYONE WHO WAS INTERESTED.

THANKS,

LINDA

Anything AMHA going on? Just trying to start showing.
Stacye

This will just be an AMHR/ASPC show - 2 day, 2 judge. If you have horses that are AMHA registered then they can be hardshipped into AMHA. Or if any of your horses parents are AMHR registered already (can find that out through the studbooks online) then you could just get them in AMHR at minimal cost.

We had given a slight thought about doing it an AMHA show on Friday, and AMHR/ASPC on Sat-Sunday, But with the added expenses of the extra day needing the arena, extra judges needed, ribbons ext..........we thought for this being the first year trying this area out we would keep it to AMHR/ASPC, which is what most of our club shows.

We live only about 15 minutes away. We've never shown but would love to try.

We have two horses that we could enter.
