Stallion got in with mares last night

Well I was hoping for one year with no mare stare, I guess that isn't going to happen!!

Sometime in the middle of the night our stallion broke apart 2 gates (that seperated the boys from the girls) and was breeding our mare who just foaled 5 1/2 weeks ago!! I was hoping he didn't finish his task, but by looking at her hind end, it's full of 'white fluid' is that a pretty sure sign that he 'got her'???

Now he's back in his pasture happier than a lark!!

Congratulations! At least you know the exact breeding date

But what a long stallion report list. July 24, July 24, July 24 and so on down the list on ALL your mares!

Happened to me last year too, only mine was July 1, July 1, July 1. He bred none of them it turns out but was so happy to have his "herd" of mares to look after.

Yep, like Beth says, you need to file the stud report with ALL the mares in that paddock, just in case. I bet he's pretty pleased with himself right now!!!
