Is it possible for a smoky black horse to carry agouti and not show it? I was looking through one of the possible foal color websites and it says buckskin is a possibility when you breed smoky black to palomino. Wouldn't a smoky black horse look bay if it had agouti?

Smokey Blacks Don't Carry agouti if they had it they would be Buckskin

But Palominos can Carry Agouti

Since Red Overrides Agouti Genes
No agouti darkens up the points and makes the body lighter - IE a black horse with agouti is a bay, so a smokey black (black + cream) with the agouti makes it a buckskin.

Thanks! I knew that, but was having one of those "moments"

A black based horse cannot carry agouti without it showing. If it was agouti+black it would be bay (or other colors similar if carying crean, dun, silver etc.) A red based horse on the other hand, CAN carry agouti without expressing it. It could be bred to a black based horse with not agouti, and a bay foal can result. So in your question, the palomino bred to the black, could indeed produce a bay. (or buckskin)
