I have the opportunity to buy back one of our first mini geldings we ever had. He is broke to drive, and has the greatest personality. My question is this.....We really would like to show him, but he is not Amhr registered. Can I get him registered in a pinto registry and show hime in those shows? He is a flashy blue roan and white pinto. If so which registery do u recommend, and do you know what the website is. Thank you so much, I know many of you show in the pinto ciruit, I figured this was a good place to start my research.

I think you can still hardship register minis (but not horses) in the Pinto registry, but all ours were already registered in an outcross registry (AMHA or AMHR) which made it very easy and cheap. The website is http://www.pinto.org and look under registration. You can also check out the schedule of shows to see if there are any in your area.

The other place to check out if he drives is the American Driving Society, where he would be a VSE (very small equine). The don't care if he is registered or not, and if he is too big for a VSE then he would be a pony! http://www.amerciandrivingsociety.org.

We show in both places and the shows are all great!

If I remember correctly; for PtHA; the horse doesn't have to be registered at all-just have enough white to be 'pinto'. They require photos also. Their shows have a lot of the great classes miniature shows have too-such as 'in hand trail', etc. and more. I think registering pinto and/or getting into the Driving Society would be great.

WCMHR papers are also acceptable outcross papers. It is on the website. Good luck with your "new-old" boy
