Protein blocks or tubs ?

Has any one tried feeding protein blocks or the tubs free choice to their minis? Of course with free choice hay.

Billy I have had back luck with protein blocks because the horses love them way too much.

I put them out and the horses sit there and eat on them continuously like a kid in a candy shop until they are gone. Last time I tried that, I put one out in the barn yard one morning and by afternoon it vanished, that fast. YIKES!

Instead, I put a 50 lb white salt block out, and containers of Purina 12 12 Free Choice Minerals. They take what they want/need and leave it.

Actually Purina changed the name of those minerals, but that's what I do. :saludando:

I also feed Purina Born to Win so I think I have all my bases covered. :bgrin

Thank you Marty.....They told me after they fill up on them they slow down and eat only a little bit...
