Prenant mare...blanket won't fit!!

I just body clipped my mare...she's in foal, due mid april. I have tried 2 different blankets, and they don't fit around her belly! What do I do??? She hates the leg straps, so I usually take them off, but now, I am worried the blanket won't stay on??

Please help!

did you do a full body clip?? the only option i know is to buy a bigger blanket. Its so cold here theres no way we could do a full clip on anyone dang it

I had the same problem. I purchased elastic blanket extenders through ebay:

The 12" was actually a little too much, but it is easy enough to fold over and tack the elastic down to the proper length.

Yep buy a new one.............should have probably tried it on before you clipped her. I never full body clip my pregnant mares, just a mare clip........

Yes, I did a full body clip. But, I am in CA and it is not very cold. During the day, and most of the night I don't even wear a jacket outside! My best friend sewed extensions on the velcro straps...so she is snug and happy!
