Hello,

RESULTS BELOW HE HAS SILVER AS WELL. WHAT COLOR IS HE?HIS DAM IS CREMELLO OR PERLINO AND SIRE IS PALOMINO PINTO, SO WHICH ONE DO YOU THINK CARRIES THE SILVER?

I post on here this week about our stud we taught was cremello pinto, but test say he is perlino.he is dirty sorry.

I got all the results test he has silver.

so what color is he now.

He would be called a perlino-who carries the silver gene . So, of course, he will always throw the cream (dilute) gene and depending on the mare will produce buckskin,palomino,cremello, perlino,smoky blacks. He will throw the silver 50% of the time. The mares could carry other modifiers like gray or dun or roan to create other possibilities. The perlino hides the effects of the silver

I noticed on animal genetics they have a silver perlino listed,

So what would make him be just a perlino or silver perlino?So what would he have to have to be silver perlino?

Because he has a "Z" Silver gene that makes him a Silver Perlino (or Perlino Silver).

The silver gene could have come from either parent. Without testing them there is no way of knowing for sure which one contributed (and it is possible they both have a silver gene and only one contributed).

Being double cream dilute + Silver will make him lighter - he has three dilution genes instead of just two. Because of the Silver gene his mane and tail particularly will be lighter than a normal perlinos.

No, I wouldn't test for Sabino, you don't really need it, plus the test is only that 1 type of sabino, so even if he's negative, he may still carry sabino.

Interesting he carries silver tho, thanks for sharing your results!
