I have few odd names for some of my dogs ,

Sadie , My female setter is a piddler so we call her piddlepants . She wets herself whenever she gets excited.

Jack, My male setter , we call him Budder . Not sure just how that came about .

And Jill ! It's good to see that someone else calls their dog Beanie Weinie ! :bgrin We have a Scottie that we call Beanie or Beanie Weanie , the kids even came up with a song for her about it . It goes to the tune of Pretty Woman but starts out " Beanie Weanie walking down the street " We also sometimes call her Squeeker .

She knows all of her nicknames too and comes when called any of them .

a big black lab mix male-----Drew Berrymore or Drewbee or Drewbles

A female mix------Vada or Vada nader

A chihuahua -----Miss Loo Loo Peanuts or Peanut or Peanie Poo

A cat---Mezza Meow

and the only name my daughter and husband could agree on for our colt, is

Chocolate Thunder....or Ben

which is from the live action Cat In The Hat movie with Mike Myers. It is the name for Thing Two.

And for some reason I call my 2 year old mare/filly Silver Beans.

:bgrin

Oh here are some we have used over the years...

  • Muffin Head - Siberian husky
  • Ice Man - Glacier - Siberian husky - He loves to help take ice out of the water tanks for the horses. Will often lift ice bigger than himself and is so proud to accomplish it.
  • Monster - Glacier - his other self.

  • Arty - short for Artic Wine
  • Twinkle Toes - miniature black stallion

Well since you ask, my husband and I have a nickname for our 9 month old pomeranian. And it is kind of goofy. Now keep in mind that we love this dog dearly but he sometimes does try our patience. So he has gotten the nickname of "hemorrhoid" because he sometimes can be a little pain in the butt.

The feline love of my life was a orange tiger cat named "Rocky" after the character Rocky Balboa - he was a fighter and loved a challenge, especially the challenge of finding new ways to exasperate and entertain me. He's been gone now (intestinal cancer at age 13) for 8 years and I still cry for him whenever I think of him. I miss him that badly.

Anyway, when my niece was really young she asked me something about Rocky, and I said "Well, his real name is Rocky, but we call him 'Kitty-Weenie-Poopy-Head' for short!"

She looked sideways at me, and you could see her brain spinning on the non-sequitor... finally she got it and just laughed for the longest time!

But we really did call him that all the time!

Brutus (11 yr old black lab) - Pooh, Poohman, Stinker, Tinker, Stinker Winker, Poohman Choo Choo

Radar (7 yr old mix) - Chucky, Charles, Chuckle Wuckles, Chuck

Brutus used to have anal gland issues, so he was stinky, hence all the stinky names.

Radar can get hyper sometimes and he'll run through the house and all you'll see is a flash run through the hallway and hear his footsteps, it reminded me of the tacky horror flick "Chucky" , so that's how he got all the Chuck names.

Funny thing is they know all those names and will answer to them. I usually only use their real names when I'm mad at them! :bgrin

Our momma mare Peanut, we call "Momma", or "Pnut Butter"

The new baby, Snickers we call "Baby Girl", "Baby" or "Snicks"

Our potbelly pig, Lucielle is now fondly called the "yard or lawn slug" because she looks just like a very large black slug laying in the yard!! :bgrin She's also referred to as "Lulu Belle", "Lu", "Big Lu", "Pork" and "Bacon" (poor thing!)
