Yesterday was my 46th bday and I decided that I wanted to spend it at the beach this year. My uncle just bought a house just outside of Lincoln City, which is on the central Oregon coast, so I was his 1st "renter". Originally I was supposed to be there with my GF, but since we are no longer together, I decided I would still go....alone!

While it was a bit weird going by myself; it was also just about the most perfect birthday I could've "asked" for....I went down there Friday night, following my uncle and his friend down, got settled in the house and then we all went to the casino for dinner and some gambling. I walked out of there $20 richer...woohoo!! lol They left to head home and I went back to the house. I read for a bit, then crashed...and didn't wake up til 7 am the next morning...that NEVER happens at home...

My dog always wakes my up around 5 am to go out...oh yeah, my daughter was house/dogsitting for me this weekend. I drove down to Newport (25 miles south) to eat breakfast and stop along the way to watch the ocean crash against the rocks, since the tide was all the way in. Unfortunately, I couldnt find my camera before I left on my trip, so no pics! :DOH! On my way back into Lincoln City, the tide had gone out some, the sun was shining and there was barely any wind at all. I walked leisurely down the beach about a mile, then walked very briskly back the other way....my weekend exercise!

I then went back to the casino, ate lunch and did some more gambling...not faring as well as I had the night before...lol Went back to the house, took a 2 hr nap, then just relaxed around the house for a while. I couldnt get the TV to work there, which was OK, but luckily I have internet on my phone, because I was feeling a bit "lost" without any modern technology...lol (coverage on my phone was very sporatic, tho, so I didnt have it all the time...darn Tmobile!!

) Went back to the casino for dinner and more gambling....and lost the rest of my "gambling money"...oh well...lol Had another restful night and leisurely morning before heading back home.

i could not have asked for a better weekend weather-wise and it was just so relaxing...really therapeutic for me. I will definitely plan future trips down there alone...

I'm so glad you had a good time. It's the simple things in life that seem to matter most.

God bless,

Joan

Sounds perfect Linda! I would be envious of you, as the Newport area is my fave area to visit on the coast, however we've made the decision to MOVE there now! So I will get to enjoy that wonderful coastline every day!

What an awesome gift to yourself! I hope this year brings you everything you want!
