Lets give thanks to all we know that have served or are till serving our great country, and fighting for our freedom.

Thank You:

My Dad, and Father-in-Law, that are both passed, for serving during World War two and in Korea.

My hubby, who served during Viet Nam

My son-in-Law DAvid who served during Desert Storm

My friend Steven who served during peace time,

and my friend Cindy that is still serving.

Thanks to all of you

We attended the official veteran's memorial service at the cemetery this morning. Very impressive. My husband is a Vietnam-era vet, and decided to stand with the vets. When "Present arms!" was called, he went into the automatic salute, even though he's been out of the military for 40 years! Real bugles played instead of recordings. Everyone felt uplifted.

That's a nice thought.

Back in the day where I came from, if you lived out in the country, you joined the military; there weren't too many other opportunities. I did that and wasted a lifetime; I'm the last one of our family left (that didn't get killed off.) I ran out of room on the mantle for flags folded into triangles. This holiday makes me cry.
