Finished a new poem today. Hope ya'll like it
Loving a horse ..
is waking up at 7am to feed and water
Loving a horse ...
is carrying 50 pound bags of feed through the mud and to the barn
loving a horse ...
is loading 200 bales of hay on 30 degree days
Loving a horse ...
Is sleeping in the barn waiting for your mare to foal
Loving a horse ..
is spended 3 hours a day cleaning out all the stalls, no matter how dirty
Loving a horse ...
is 200+ trips to TSC per year
Loving a horse ...
is having the courage to enter that show right for the very first time
Loving a horse ...
is spending all night walking your foundered horse
Loving a horse ...
is that nice long trip to the vet when he is still sick
Loving ahorse ...
is knowing when to say goodbye
and knowing what your doing is right.
Its that last cold kiss on the cheek
or letting them go to a good home
But just being able to say
I loved that horse so much
Would be more then enouph
to any horse that lives,
it would make him proud
and he would stand tall
as he closed his eyes and said
"i was loved"
