Ivy - can anyone identify?

Can anyone identify this ivy? Out of all of the grass in the pasture, he chooses to chew on this!! I hope it's nothing poisonous. I pulled him in when I noticed he was eating it...

Hubby and I think it may be this plant: Mikania scandens

I don't know whether it's harmful or not, I just know we see it a lot in the wetter areas around here.

Watch for sweating and frothing at the mouth or potential breathing issues. Generally I think they have to eat a large amount to effect them - but this is a mini so watch for those signs.
 
I was going to say Virginia Snakeroot based on the first photo, but the second one doesn't look it--that one makes me think field bindweed, but not sure that's exactly right either. We have bindweed, but not the snakeroot, I've only seen it in photos.
