I have 35 mares, down from 48 a few months ago, yeh, so I'm happy with my numbers now. I have 3 1/2 studs, 2 1/2 are homozygous and I have a perlino guy. I have some weanlings left, 2 fillies and 2 colts that I'm keeping for now and a few for sale yet. I have 4 jennys and 2 llama girls too. Just for the heck of it, some pictures of my mares.

Don't we all love our animals so much, it'd be a sad world without them.

We currently own 16 miniature horses (one is in foal), 4 miniature donkeys, one miniature mule, and 3 riding horses.

We have 9, and have so far avoided giving in to the 'potato chip' syndrome too badly.

We got our first mini 16 years ago, and have collected 8 more since. Once they're here, they stay here, though. We don't sell any, so that's probably what has stopped us from buying too many!

2 weanling stallions (1 for sale)

2 yearling stallions (would sell one but want to bred him to a mare in the spring and then about the change saying you can not reg. the foal until the stallion is permanent, means I would have to keep him another year to make sure his papers are completed)

1 older stallion

and 9 girls ranging from weanlings to 11 years old

Boy am I collecting a lot.

2 years ago at this time we had 4 mini's and 2 big horses.

Not counting the two mini mares we have leased out, we have:

2 biggies (both geldings, one is pretty elderly)

1 small pony gelding (over achieving mini)

7 mini geldings, if you count one that's a to-be

2 mini junior stallions (one of whom I co-own with Erica)

6 mini mares

Guess that's 18.

I can remember when I would have never imagined owning so many horses, and also at that time, I would not have thought it was possible to know and love that many horses. But, of course, it's very possible! Like all of us, I know them all as the individuals they are and they all are part of my heart.

We have a total of 21 miniatures:

2 geldings, 5 stallions, 12 mares, which 8 of those are bred for next spring and 2 coming 2 yr old fillys. We don't breed back to back, we give our girls a year off between foaling. Everyone has a stall and are turned out daily for exersize, we have a 40 x 80 log barn that is pretty warm during the winter months.

I have a 11/2 year old gelding and filly and a 5 year old that is in foal for a April baby. So soon to be 4. We want to get more , but I need more pasture and a bigger barn.

The luxury of being a trainer is that I get alot of horses in then can send them home for the winter...! LOL!
