Did anyone see how the sale went. I couldn't get logged on from place I was at.

I watched as much of the sale as I could. Good thing I wasn't planning to bid! There were some real bargains and some really nice horses.'

I think a few Forum members purchased? Hope we hear about those!

I thought for the most part the best horses brought the best prices and there were a lot of average horses that brought average prices. The thing is, the prices for "best" and "average" seem to be getting closer and closer. I was really shocked that Red Tape only brought $1100, Mister Meaner only brought $1150 and then the dam of the high seller - as a 3in1 even! - only brought $1000. Seemed like the buyers were snoozing on those three, and the Shetlands in general for the quality they were were good deals. I've had a really nasty sinus infection all week, so for once we didn't bid, though there were times when it was hard not to.

I watched most of the auction and wanted to bid on a few sooooo bad, but knew I'd be in HUGE trouble with the wife if I did...not to mention we'd be walking to Florida if I bought another horse....LOL!

I agree with rock river the better horses brought the better money, but there were still quite a few deals to be had.

It was well attended by the local folks and on the web they had up to 173 people watching from 11 countries. Many of the horses are going overseas. But quite a few of the brood mares are staying here. There were some really exceptional mares to be had, many bred to top stallions and they brought fairly low prices for what they were.

We ended up with the Mardi Gras son that I thought was awful pretty, like we need any more horses espicially another Shetland Stallion. LOL Oh well there is always room for one more good one, I guess.

John - Do you know who got #69? Just curious. I was in there, but stopped at my limit (I was good

John the horse you got was awesome. I would have loved him but he is to tall for us. We were sitting right behind you with the baby.

Val, one of Sherri Lykens(ssp) customers bought him, not sure whom it was. You might want to call her. I understand they were willing to pay dearly double what he brought as a driving gelding. So I am sure they are happy with him.

LC, I remember the cute baby and wish you had introduced yourself, we love putting names with the faces at these deals. We really like the colt we bought, but don't need another stallion. LOL I will more than likely sell him later after we get him home, he was just too cheap being a Rock E grandson and having the conformation etc. he had. Very striking guy in my eyes. LOL

sounds like some real bargains , unfortunately the cost of shipping and quarantine puts it out of our reach

I bought the Mardi Gra son # 20. Really nice Rock E grandson with ton of chrome!

As far as quarantine and shipping is concerned, at the sale I was quoted 2800 total for quarantine and shipping to Europe which has come down over the last year quite a bit!! Still a lot of money but better than it used to be.

FANTASTIC sale. Jana did a WONDERFUL job! The only other miniature horse sale I've attended was Little King. Janas sale was just as good AND she had plenty of helpers to answer my ton of questions, and a variety of good lines to choose from. I purchased 2 bred AMHR/AMHA mares and a SHETLAND/AMHR yearling mare. Filled my little 2 horse trailer up. Everyone arrived back to the middle of Michigan without a scratch. I wish we had more sales of that caliber so close.
