So I have a mare named Moss Grove Crimson Belle. I only know that her sire is Bond Bee Butch but her dam seems to be unheard of...?!? Does ANYONEEE have information on my mare?

Also I have another mare named Crimson Sophia, her sires name is "Magnum" and her dam is "Icey". Magnum was at the Afton Fair last year while we were showing Sophia but we didnt have get any information on him. idk... i just dont like not knowing my horses ancestry... I dont have their papers. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!!

I don't have the studbook, but you might not find the mares name if they aren't registered. Lots of horses have "unknown" on their paperwork, especially if they were hardshipped in, even from AMHA to AMHR.

To add some more uncertainty to the mix, many of the "Bond" bred horses aren't actually by the horses listed on the paperwork. Seems there were some question on sires and dams, and who was by or out of who. But this certainly isn't the only farm that chose their foals parents by quality instead of genes. There was a big name farm many years ago that used this forumula - if it's good, it's by stud a, if it's not as good, it's by stud b, c, or d.

Luckily with DNA testing required by AMHA most of the intentional cheating is gone.
