I know the rule of thumb for big horses is 100 bales per light horse. how do you guys determine with your minis how much hay for the year. I live in the northern states so we feed hay longer then I would like! lol I have 3 minis....well soon to be 3 but this was the first year I wintered and we are just squeeking by as we were not planning on them so we are supplementing them with timothy pellets some. How do you guys determine how much you will need? Is there a rule of thumb?
