hey question for you all... do your little ones get diarrhea when mom comes back into heat...

mine has a bit... and a friend told me she has had that happen to her....

any thoughts

Definitely. It's called "Foal Scours" and occurs when the mare goes into foal heat......very common.

Just for future reference, one thing that helps keep this from happening is to worm the mom with Ivermectin within 24 hours of foaling out. It's not guaranteed but it does reduce the possibility of foal scours tremendously.
 
What helps too is to give the foal a little bit of Bio-Sponge. That stuff is amazing for stopping diarrhea! I keep it on hand all the time now.
