We've got to trim his belly but do you think that somewhere, deep down under all that fat, there could be a show horse? Nothing huge. Local shows and maybe smaller WCMHR shows. I only have three pictures at the moment...just tell me what you think from those. I was going to get more today but we had a tornado...

: PS... in the 2 month period I've had him you'd be suprised how much weight he's already lost! lol

If you don't think he could be show quality with work I'm still going to teach him tricks. :bgrin

Sorry it's at sort of an angle. My mom doesn't listen...lol.

Of course she HAD to get his head in this picture and not the hooves like I asked her! lol. His head looks...distorted in this picture.

What a crap picture. I don't even know why I'm putting this one on here! He moved his back hoof right when my mom took it and then the camera died. Crappy digital camera.

I promise to get some better ones tomorrow morning!!!

I'm not sure he'd make a good halter horse, but he might find his niche at a show...

He is so heavy boned that he looks like a tiny Percheron! I love the work horses, he's adorable.

If you are looking for a conformation critique, he has a large plain head and his neck is a perfect example of a "bull neck" which is a thick horizontal neck that comes low out of the chest. There is little definition of a throatlatch. His shoulder is a little too upright and he has a weak hip, although his tailset is nice. He looks very straight and square in the legs, I love how wide he is.

His hoof angles look great, but yes PLEASE keep working that weight off of him! He desperately needs to continue loosing, I bet he'll look like a different horse!

I bet he'd make a wonderful trick horse. He looks so laid back, and he's standing square and looks like he's behaving in every picture.

Haha. I never thought of him being a miniature percheron...but I guess you're right! :bgrin

Thanks for the critique!

Anyone else?

It is so hard to tell what the finished product will look like when they finally trim up. I know this is true because I had a broodmare that needed to lose weight before I offered her for sale, and she looked like a different horse a year later when she finally lost her extra weight. He's a sweet looking boy, and well worth the effort to trim up.

Thanks everyone! Sorry I couldn't get more pictures today...the tornado clean-up at the barn was awful.

I'll probably just wait until I get him to lose some weight.

Kawgirl - THANKS! Good to know that he looks like he'd be a good driving horse! :bgrin

Margaret - Thanks! I've had several skinny guys that, when muscled up and got weight, looked like different horses. I didn't even think about applying it to losing weight.
